Epstein Files: Famous Names Revealed in Massive Government Release

The US Department of Justice has released over three million pages of documents about Jeffrey Epstein on 30 January 2026. This is the biggest and final batch of files they plan to make public under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The release also includes 180,000 photos and 2,000 videos, all checked carefully to remove private details that could identify victims.

Several well-known people are mentioned in the files, though their names have been talked about before in connection with Epstein. Prince Andrew appears in emails and messages. Elon Musk, the billionaire businessman, is mentioned in communications and invites linked to Epstein's contacts. Peter Mandelson, the former British government minister, also shows up in the documents. Other names include Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Ivanka Trump, and film director Mira Nair.

The files show just how many people Epstein knew across politics, business, and entertainment. The Justice Department has made clear that being named in these documents doesn't mean someone has done anything illegal. The point is simply to be open with the public about how many people Epstein was connected to.

The scale of this release is enormous. More than 500 lawyers and reviewers worked to get the files ready, removing personal information whilst keeping the records accurate. It shows the government is serious about being transparent in a case that's raised big questions about power, privilege, and justice.

For those named, the attention might damage their reputations, even if they face no legal trouble. For everyone else, the files give a clearer view of just how far Epstein's reach extended, and why his case still matters years after his death.
