Trump Hints at Possible US–Cuba Deal

Donald Trump has suggested that the United States may soon strike a deal with Cuba, pointing to the island’s worsening economic crisis. Speaking aboard Air Force One, he noted that Cuba is running out of oil and money after Washington blocked supplies from Venezuela and Mexico. Trump argued that Havana will eventually be forced to negotiate, saying the situation “doesn’t have to be a humanitarian crisis.”

The US strategy appears to be using Cuba’s shortages as leverage to bring its leaders to the table. While Trump confirmed that talks have begun, he offered no clear details on what the deal might involve.

Analysts believe any agreement could ease Cuba’s economic strain but may also come with political conditions. For now, the future of US–Cuba relations remains uncertain, hinging on whether Havana accepts Washington’s terms
